JACKSON, Miss. | Eric Elliott allowed just three hits in a complete-game effort for Jackson State in a 13-2 seven-inning Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) victory over Bethune-Cookman on Friday night.
Elliott (3-0) struck out 13 in seven innings, his first complete game as a Tiger and Jackson State pounded out nine hits against Tanner Boccabello (4-1) and Aaron Schaefer. Jackson State (14-7, 2-2 SWAC) used a pair of big innings to pull away from Bethune-Cookman (10-12, 3-1 SWAC) with seven runs in the second inning before putting the game away with six more runs in the fifth.
Wilbert Perez finished 3-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI. Meanwhile Jordan McCladdie, Ledy Alvarez, and Darwin Gregg each picked up three RBI in the win.

- 5th inning - Gregg homered to left field, 3 RBI; Cabral scored; Perez scored. McCladdie tripled to center field, 2 RBI; Torres scored; Tate scored. Alvarez advanced to second on a wild pitch, advanced to third; McCladdie scored on a wild pitch, Jackson State 13-2.
