JACKSON, Miss. | Jackson State dropped the final game of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) series against Bethune-Cookman 15-7 at Braddy Field on Sunday afternoon.
Jackson State (14-9, 2-4 SWAC) fell behind early to Bethune-Cookman (12-12, 5-1 SWAC) before tying the game at 6-all in the second inning with a five-run inning. However, the Wildcats were able to pull ahead in the fourth inning and held off Jackson State down the stretch to win the series.
Tyshon Patty finished 2-for-3 to lead the Tigers at the plate, and Anthony Brown finished 2-for-4 (2 RBI) as the pair picked up two of the eight hits for the Tigers in the loss. Erick Gonzalez (3-2) suffered the loss in the start for Jackson State allowing 10 runs on nine hits with four strikeouts in 3.0 innings. Brandon Haston and Nkosi Didder each went 3.0 innings in relief of Gonzalez on the day.

- 2nd inning - Brown singled down the rf line, 2 RBI; Hederick Torres advanced to third, interference; Patty scored; Joseph Eichelberger scored. Robert Tate Jr. struck out swinging, reached first on a wild pitch; Jordan McCladdie advanced to second; Brown advanced to third; Torres scored. Wilbert Perez walked, RBI; Tate advanced to second; McCladdie advanced to third; Brown scored. Perez advanced to second; Tate advanced to third; McCladdie scored on a balk. Pierre Cabral singled to left field, RBI; Perez advanced to third; Tate scored, 6-6.
- 4th inning - Lee walked; Sergio Rivera scored on a wild pitch. Vanegas singled to left field, advanced to second on the throw, RBI; Lee advanced to third, scored on a fielding error by lf. Martinez doubled to left center, RBI; Vanegas scored. Rodriguez homered to left field, 2 RBI; Martinez scored, Bethune-Cookman 11-6.
- 6th inning - Plascencia tripled down the rf line, RBI; Irvin Escobar scored, Bethune-Cookman 12-6.
- 7th inning - Martinez flied out to rf, SF, RBI; Lee advanced to third; Rivera scored, Bethune-Cookman 13-6.
- 7th inning - Darwin Gregg homered to left center, RBI, Bethune-Cookman 13-7.
- 9th inning - Martinez lined out to cf, SF, RBI; Lee advanced to third; Rivera scored. Jorge Gonzalez Febo singled through the left side, RBI; Lee scored, Bethune-Cookman 15-7.
