MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Jackson State pounded out 17 hits picking up a 13-7 victory in the final game of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) series against Alabama State at the Wheeler-Watkins Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Ledy Alvarez led Jackson State (17-16, 5-10 SWAC) at the plate, finishing the game 4-for-6 with four RBI, while Robert Tate Jr. finished 3-for-6 with three runs scored from the leadoff spot. Meanwhile, Joseph Eichelberger finished 3-for-4 with three runs scored and four RBI with a double and home run. Hederick Torres finished 3-for-5 in the win.
Erick Gonzalez (4-3) got the win in the start with six strikeouts and Nkosi Didder picked up his second save of the season working the final 4.0 innings scattering four hits and striking out two.
