JACKSON, Miss. | Jackson State fell behind early and dropped a non-conference midweek game to Nicholls 14-6 at Braddy Field on a chilly Tuesday night.
Jackson State (17-17) fell behind by as many as eight runs early before battling back to within one run (10-5) in the sixth inning on a solo home run by Jordan McCladdie after scoring three in the fourth inning.
The Tigers pounded out nine hits including three from McCladdie in the lead-off spot, finishing 3-for-5 with a run scored and an RBI. He also stole his 27th base of the season in the contest, while Robert Tate Jr. finished 2-for-5 with a pair of RBI. Davione Hull picked up a pair of hits coming off the bench, and Arjun Huerta finished 2-for-4 with an RBI.
JeAndrick Lourens (0-3), the first of five pitchers used on the night, suffered the loss in the start working 3.0 innings and allowing six runs (four earned) on four hits with three strikeouts. Miles Thomas and Caleb Gallant each worked 1.1 innings without allowing a hit, with Gallant striking out one without allowing a run. Meanwhile, Corey Richardson logged 1.2 innings allowing just one run (unearned) on three hits.

- 6th inning - Johnson flied out to cf, SF, RBI; Collura advanced to third; Noah Detiller scored, unearned, Nicholls 10-4.
