Jackson State falls 3-1 to Alabama State despite late lead

MONTGOMERY, Ala.| The Jackson State Tigers took a 1-0 lead into the sixth inning, but could not hang on and fell 3-1 to the Alabama State Hornets Friday.

Brooklyn Morris (5-5) started and took the loss in the circle for Jackson State . The left-hander went six innings, giving up three runs, two earned, on three hits, allowing one walk and striking out two.

At the plate, the Tigers were paced by Ka'Liyah Gipson, who went 2-for-4 on the day. Jace Jackson furnished a noteworthy performance at the dish as well, going 1-for-4 with an RBI.
