JACKSON, Miss. | Jackson State walked off Alabama A&M 14-4 on an Arjun Huerta single to win game two and the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) series 14-4 at Braddy Field on Friday afternoon.
Jackson State (19-17, 7-10 SWAC) scored early to take a 6-1 lead over Alabama A&M in the third inning before the Bulldogs closed to within 6-4 in the top of the eighth inning. However, Jackson State used a pair of walks and three hits in the bottom of the eighth including the single by Huerta to pull away with an eight-run eighth inning for the win.
The Tigers pounded out 15 hits in the win including four players picking up multiple hits led by Jordan McCladdie who finished 4-for-5 with a pair of runs scored and a pair of RBI, and also recorded three stolen bases to give him 30 on the season. Meanwhile, Huerta finished 3-for-4 with a pair of runs scored and three RBI, and also hit a two-run home run oin the third inning. Wilbert Perez finished 2-for-4 with a pair of runs scored and RBI, while Hederick Torres finished 2-for-2 with two runs scored.
Jackson State recorded three extra base hits, reached base 15 times via walks or hit by pitch, and also recorded seven stolen bases in the win.
Brandon Haston (2-6) picked up the win working 5.1 innings in the start allowing three runs on six hits with eight strikeouts before Nkosi Didder came in middle relief working 2.0 innings allowing one run on one hit. Stevins Spurgeon Jr. came on for the final two outs to record his second consecutive save.

McCladdie singled to center field, RBI; Tyshon Patty advanced to second; Gregg advanced to third; Torres scored. Tate walked, RBI; McCladdie advanced to second; Patty advanced to third; Gregg scored. Joseph Eichelberger walked, RBI; Tate advanced to second; McCladdie advanced to third; Patty scored. Perez singled to center field, 2 RBI; Eichelberger advanced to third; Tate scored; McCladdie scored. Perez stole second; Eichelberger scored on a wild pitch. Huerta singled up the middle, RBI; Perez scored, Jackson State 14-4.
