PINE BLUFF, Ark. | Jackson State dropped the opening game of its Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) series to UAPB on Friday 5-0 at the Torii Hunter Baseball Complex.
Brandon Haston (3-7) suffered the loss working 7.1 innings allowing five runs on nine hits with a pair of strikeouts. Shemar Harris came out of the bullpen for the final 0.2 innings recording a strikeout. Jackson State (27-18, 14-11 SWAC) finished the game with six hits led by Jordan McCladdie finishing 2-for-4 with a double and stolen base.Â
Wilbert Perez finished 2-for-4 for Jackson State in the loss.

- 2nd inning - Trinidad DeLaGarza singled up the middle, RBI; Jesus Riera advanced to third; Vinny Saumell scored, UAPB 1-0.
