BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | Jackson State track and field's performance at Saturday's Samford Open was highlighted by four top-three finishes and 10 personal bests for the Tigers.
Senior
Terrell Dixon placed second in the high jump, the highest place of any other Tiger on the day, with a height of 1.94m. Last week's Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Track Athlete of the Week,
Sedgwrick Pitts Jr., came in third in the 200m dash with a time of 21.22.
On the women's side,
Nedgine Morancy continued her hot start to the season, coming in third in long jump after leaping a distance of 5.54m. This distance was also a new personal best for her.
Kaylin Jackson rounded out the top-three finishes for the Tigers, finishing in third in the 800m race, clocking in at 2:19.53.
Eight other Tigers recorded personal bests on the day: Pitts Jr. (60m dash),
Ronald Huddleston (60m dash), Korbin Lewis (pole vault),
Robert Salhab III (shot put),
Rickey Green III (60m hurdles), Kayla WIlliams (60m hurdles prelims and finals),
Brynesha Bourrage (400m race), and
Lorine Jelagat (3K).
