BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | The Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) announced its individual award winners and all-SWAC teams on Thursday morning for the 2025-26 bowling season, with Jackson State claiming four:
Michael Boykins (Coach of the Year),
Paige Hubert (Bowler of the Year),
Faith Washington (1st Team), and
Tiara Henderson (1st Team).
Boykins, in his 12th season at the helm for Jackson State, has led the team to a 46-33 overall record so far this season and an impressive 24-4 record in the SWAC. His team earned its first regular-season SWAC championship since 2016, and its third overall during his tenure.
In 28 games, Hubert recorded a combined average of 192.36 and 5,386 total pins. Her performance in the SWAC West Roundup propelled her to first place as she averaged 209.07 and 2,927, a 30-point advantage over the second-place bowler at the time. She finished her final 14 games with a 175.64 average and 2,459 total pins. Hubert becomes only the second Tiger to be named Bowler of the Year, the first being Briana Reid in 2016.
In her final season with the Tigers, Washington had a career year in conference play. Her 184.96 average and 5,179 pin total secured her a top-five spot in the individual standings. Her best showing came in the West Roundup, where she recorded a 188.29 average and 2,636 pin total.
Henderson, a freshman Detroit native, dominated in her first collegiate roundup as she ended the three-day stretch with a 190.64 average and a 2,669-point total to cement herself in the third spot among all players. She finished with a 187.25 average and 5,243 pin total.
