PEARL, Miss. | Jackson State dropped its final game of the MLB HBCU Power Series 8-7 to Alcorn State late Sunday night on a walk-off infield single from the Braves.
Jackson State (1-2) collected eight hits on the night, led by Pierre Cabral who finished 2-for-5 with three RBI, while Ledy Alvarez finished 2-for-4. Joe Williams (0-1), the fifth of sixth pitchers used on the night by the Tigers, suffered the loss after working 1.0-plus innings of relief scattering four hits but gave up one run in the bottom of the ninth inning when he left runners at first and second for reliever Talmadge Davis.
