JACKSON, Miss. | Jackson State returns home after seven games to open the 2026 season with its home opener, a doubleheader on Tuesday afternoon beginning at 3 pm against Tougaloo.

Ledy Alvarez (.364/.481/.455) leads Jackson State (3-4) at the plate, collecting eight hits in 22 official at-bats. He has also scored six runs and driven in a pair, while collecting two doubles. Edwin Lemus Hudson Jr. (.375/.615/.500) has played in five games and is 3-for-8 on the year with a double and a pair of walks, while Tyree Reed (.292/.452/..417) has collected seven hits on the season including a double and a triple. He has scored five runs and knocked in another four.
Diego Melendez (.292/.346/.292) has collected seven hits in seven games for the Tigers, scoring five runs on the season.
On the mound, Derek Arrocha (2-0) has logged 13.0 innings and allowed six runs on 11 hits with 15 total strikeouts, while Jaedeyn Edwards has recorded a pair of saves while pitching i four games and logging 7.2 innings. He has allowed just three hits with eight strikeouts. Christian Delgado has come out of the bullpen to log 8.0 innings and has allowed five runs (four earned) on seven hits with six strikeouts.
