Jackson State drops road game in Arkansas on Monday night

PINE BLUFF, Ark. | Dorian McMillian led three players in double figures for Jackson State, but it wasn't enough as the Tigers fell 84-63 to Arkansas-Pine Bluff in Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) action at H.O. Clemmons Arena on Monday night.

McMillian finished with 24 points, his second consecutive game with 20-plus points, connecting on 42.9 (9-of-21) percent from the floor including four three-pointers. He was joined in double figures by Jayme Mitchell Jr. with 13 points and eight rebounds, and Tamarion Hoover off the bench with 12.

Jackson State finished the night shooting 36.5 (23-of-63) percent from the floor and 25.9 (7-of-27) percent from beyond the arc, while also shooting 66.7 (10-of-15) percent from the free throw line. Meawhile, UAPB finished the night shooting 50.9 (29-of-57) percent from the floor and 45.5 (5-of-11) percent from beyond the arc, while also shooting 81.0 (17-of-21) percent from the free throw line. 

Quion Williams led four UAPB players in double figures with 25 points.

Inside the Numbers
In a first half that was tied nine different times and had five lead changes, Jackson State finished the first half shooting 39.4 (13-of-33) percent and 21.4 (3-of-14) percent from beyond the arc. They also hit both of their free throws in the opening 20 minutes. Meanwhile, UAPB shot 53.3 (16-of-30) percent from the floor and 44.4 (4-of-9) percent from beyond the arc. They also shot 71.4 (5-of-7) percent from the free throw line.

McMillian led Jackson State with 12 points, with six of the eight players who saw action in the first half recording a point. Meanwhile, Williams led UAPB with 17 points with six of the seven players who saw action for the Golden Lions recording a point.

In the second half, Jackson State shot 33.3 (10-of-30) percent from the floor and 30.8 (4-of-13) percent from beyond the arc, while also shooting 66.7 (8-of-13) percent from the free throw line. Meawhile, UAPB finished the second half shooting 48.1 (13-of-27) percent from the floor and 45.5 (5-of-11) percent from beyond the arc, while also shooting 85.7 (12-of-14) percent from the free throw line.
