JACKSON, Miss.| The Jackson State softball team was not able to notch a run against Nicholls pitcher Sierra Ouellette on Wednesday and were shut out 10-0 by the Colonels at home.
Jayden Rutledge (0-1) started and took the loss in the circle for Jackson State.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Jackson State (9-11) did not advance a runner past second base in the game.
- The Tigers went 0-for-1 with runners in scoring position, last placing a runner as far as second in the fifth, when Jhordan Dyer made it into scoring position with two outs.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Jackson State pitchers faced 32 Nicholls hitters in the game, allowing seven ground balls and eight fly balls while striking out two.
- Jace Jackson led the Tigers at the plate, going 0-for-1.
- Nicholls was led offensively by Reagan Heflin, who went 1 for 3 with a home run and three RBIs.
- Ouellette led the Colonels pitching staff, throwing six shutout innings.
