JACKSON, Miss. | Jackson State used a pair of home runs and the arm of Jayden Lopez to clinch its Southwestern Athletic Confernce (SWAC) series with Prairie View A&M with a 15-4 run-rule victory in seven innings at Braddy Field on Sunday afternoon.

Lopez (3-1) picked up the win working 6.0-plus innings allowing a pair of runs on three hits with six strikeouts before giving way to Christian Delgado in the ninth, working the final 1.0 inning allowing a pair of runs on three hits with three strikeouts.

Jackson State (12-13, 3-3 SWAC) collected 11 hits including a pair of 400-plus foot home runs in the win. Pierre Cabral finished the day 2-for-3 with a solo shot in the third inning, his second in as many days, with a 405-foot blast down the left field line. Meanwhile, Asafa Jones finished 1-for-2 with a pair of runs scored and added a solo shot - a 440-foot blast to centerfield in the fifth inning. Payton Chase Boines finished 2-for-5 with a pair of runs scored and RBI, Edwin Lemus Hudson Jr. finished 2-for-3 with a pair of runs scored and an RBI, while Wilbert Perez finished 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI.
