STARKVILLE, Miss. | Da'Lon Harris set a new Jackson State program record in the men's hammer throw with a throw of 53.07m, highlighting the Tigers' performance, which also included five top-three finishes at the Bulldog Relays hosted by Mississippi State from March 26-28.
Harris' new record was nearly a 10-meter improvement from his last recorded hammer throw at last year's Southern Miss Invitational, where he threw for a distance of 43.45 meters.
On the men's side, Duncan Koima finished second in the men's 5k, coming in at a 15:04.22, while
Collins Kibet followed closely behind with a 15:07.69 time to round off the top three in the race.
Rickey Green III finished in second place with a 14.43 time in the 110m hurdles.
Sedgwrick Pitts Jr., coming off a SWAC Track Athlete of the Week honor last week, came in a close third place in the 200-meter dash with a 20.85 time.
On the women's side,
Kaylin Jackson recorded a new personal best in the 800-meter race with a time of 2:10.16, which was a third-place finish for the Georgia native.
