BELLEVUE, Wash. | Jackson State scored multiple runs in five innings and collected 18 hits, and held off a furious rally to defeat Seattle 13-12 at Bannerwood Park on Saturday night to win the series.
Jackson State (9-7) scored three runs in the third inning, fifth, and sixth innings; while they also added a pair of runs in the seventh and eighth using eight extra-base hits to pull away early before a five-run eighth inning by Seattle trimmed the lead to just one.Â
Isaac McClenty led the Tigers at the plate finishing 4-for-5 with a run scored and three RBI with a double and a triple. He was joined in multiple hits by Pierre Cabral finished the night 3-for-5 with three runs scored and a pair of RBI with a double and a home run, while Edwin Lemus Hudson Jr. finished 3-for-3 with four runs scored and an RBI wth a pair of doubles. Hederick Torres finished 3-for-3 with a run scored and four RBI and a double.
Robert Tate Jr. also picked up a pair of hits in the win.
Kevin De Los Santos (1-1), the third of nine pitchers used on the night by Jackson State, picked up the win working 0.2 inning allowing one run on one hit. Derek Arrocha pitched for the consecutive day, picking up his first save working the ninth in scoreless relief. Â
