OXFORD, Miss. | Rickey Green III led the Jackson State track and field teams at the Joe Walker Invite over the weekend, after winning the 110m hurdles for the second week in a row.
The sophomore from Sacramento, California, clocked in with a time of 14.33 to take first place. The Tigers also had four other athletes finish in the top three against a highly competitive field.
Junior
Kaylin Jackson finished second in the women's 800m race, coming in at 2:13.25.
Callie Calicut recorded a season best in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:02.10.
Kaiden Berry threw for 50.62m in the discus throw to come in third place.
Sedgwrick Pitts Jr. rounded off the Tigers' top three finishes with a third-place finish in the 200m dash in 21.17.
Six Tigers recorded new personal and season bests at the meet, including:
Kierstin Mumford (triple jump),
Ashanti Patton (triple jump),
Malayna Mallory (hammer throw),
Robert Salhab III (discus throw),
Eric Lagat (3k steeplechase), Duncan Koima (1500 meter race), and
Gabrielle Langford (200m dash).
