Jackson State plates eight runs in loss to Alcorn State

LORMAN, Miss. --An outstanding offensive output was not enough for Jackson State on Tuesday. The Tigers tallied eight runs, but could not hold the Alcorn State Lady Braves at bay, and were defeated 10-8.

Madison McDowell (3-3) got the ball to start for Jackson State (18-16) and took the loss.

In the batter's box, the Tigers were paced by Avelina Mclean, who went 1-for-1 on the day with two RBIs. Isabella Rivera furnished a standout performance at the plate as well, going 1-for-2 with a double and an RBI. Thenya Kennedy also contributed for Jackson State, putting together one hit in four trips to the plate while adding a walk and an RBI.
