Tallahassee, Fla. |Jackson State men's basketball is set to take on Florida A&M Saturday evening.

Jackson State defeated the UAPB Golden Lions 88-84 in double overtime. 

The Tigers (7-17, 6-5) had five players score in double figures, led by Romelle Mansel, who had a double-double with 18 points and 13 rebounds.

Mansel has recently been the Tigers' top threat, averaging 17 points in the last three games. Mansel scored a career-high 18 points while recording his third career double against UAPB. 

Jackson State forced 13 UAPB turnovers and turned those takeaways into 18 points on the offensive end on the floor. Chase Adams led the way for Jackson State with three steals.   

Florida A&M men's basketball dropped 75-45 to  Prairie View A&M Panthers on Monday. 

Noah Meren led the Rattlers with 14 points.

The Rattlers have one of the best defenses in the SWAC, allowing 70.4 PPG, ranking fourth in the league. 

Jackson State and Florida A&M are newly found conference rivals. Jackson State beat FAMU 59-58 earlier in the season.
