Jackson State Topples Texas Southern to Remain Unbeaten in SWAC Play

Box Score JACKSON, Miss. – Three players scored in double-figures and Jackson State cruised past Texas Southern 92-68 and improved to 5-0 in Southwestern Athletic Conference play.
 
It's the 22-straight win in a row for the program at the friendly confines of the Lee E. Williams Athletics & Assembly Center.
 
All-American candidate and WNBA prospect Ameshya Williams-Holliday dominated with 18 points and 15 rebounds to post the double-double. The Gulfport, Mississippi native converted all four free-throw attempts and added three steals and a block.
 
Reigning SWAC Player of the Year Dayzsha Rogan scored a team-high 20 points on 8-for-14 shooting from the field. Rogan also handed out a game-high five assists and went 2-for-2 at the charity stripe.
 
Miya Crump dropped 15 points and went 7-for-7 at the free-throw line. The Houston, Texas product grabbed six rebounds, handed out three assists and recorded a pair of steals.
 
As a team, JSU shot 43.2 percent (32-for-74) from the field, while holding TSU to 34.3 percent (23-for-67).
 
JSU controlled the front of the basket and outrebounded TSU 57-26 and scored 42 points in the paint.
 
JSU returns to action this weekend as it travels to SWAC newcomers Florida A&M and Bethune-Cookman.
