Box Score JACKSON, Miss. – The 2-time defending SWAC champion Jackson State women's basketball team rolled past rival Alcorn State 75-49 in the SWAC opener Wednesday evening from the Lee E. Williams Athletic and Assembly Center.
Senior and All-American candidate
Ameshya Williams-Holliday scored 19 points and hauled in 8 rebounds.
Williams-Holliday finished 7-for-19 from the field also recorded three blocks.
Reigning SWAC Player of the Year
Dayzsha Rogan dropped 18 points on 7-for-12 shooting from the field. The Ripley, Mississippi native also added four steals and grabbed six rebounds.
Junior
Keshuna Luckett scored 11 points and grabbed three rebounds.
As a team, JSU shot 46.4 percent (26-for-56) from the field. The Blue and White held Alcorn to 33.3 percent (19-for-57) from the floor.
JSU dominated in the paint with a 38-26 advantage.
The Tigers return to action Saturday, January 8 at Alabama State for a 3 p.m. start.
