HARAHAN, La. – The Jackson State University bowling team had another impressive day at the Colonial Lanes Classic hosted by Tulane.
Competing in the traditional format on Saturday, the Lady Tigers began the day defeating #4 Sam Houston St. 924-861, #24 Lincoln Memorial 877-776, and Texas Southern 932-886. JSU came up short in the final two matches on Saturday, falling to #14 Maryland Eastern Shore 983-847, and to Florida A&M 912-892.
Julianna Rincon was the top bowler for Jackson State with a 192.6 average, including a high of 211 against Texas Southern. Marie Jose Jaramillo was next to lead the way for the Lady Tigers, posting a 191.0 average, with a single-game high of 224 vs. Sam Houston St.
Jackson State is currently in eighth place in the 15-team event and will begin play in Sunday's championship bracket finals against UAB at 8:30 a.m. Live stats and video of select matches are available at gojsutigers.com.
