PENSACOLA, Fla. - The Jackson State University bowling team is in third place after day one of the season-opening Florida A&M Invitational.
Jackson State had a team pinfall total of 4,664, just 10 pins shy of second place.
Competing in the Baker format on Friday, JSU went 2-3 on the day, with victories over Texas Southern (951-916) and host Florida A&M (884-810). The Lady Tigers fell to Tulane (1,024 – 934), Alabama State (954-939), and Southern (981-956).
In Saturday's traditional team format, JSU is scheduled to face Grambling, Emmanuel College, Florida A&M, and Southern on day two of bracket seeding for Sunday's finals.
