JACKSON, Ms. - The Jackson State cross country team will compete at the NCAA Regionals Championships, in Huntsville, Alabama on Friday.Â

There are 39 participating collegiate teams competing in the women's 6K event, which begins at 8:30 a.m. and 34 teams participating in the men's 10K race, starting at 9:30 a.m.
The Tigers placed three runners in the top five of the event at the Southwestern Athletic Conference two weeks ago, with six individuals finishing in the top 25. Tyler Duncan led the way for the men's team with a first-place finish (25:39.9) followed by Jallah Galimah in second. Marquentin Barnes followed in fourth place (27:21.1), while Brian Koringo finished 16th place (27:21.1). Raekwon Hopkins came in 20th for the Tigers with a time of 27:39.5, followed by Jeremiah Hudson (28:20.0).
On the women's side, Joan Kiplagat was in 9th place with a time of 20.24.5 to secure All-SWAC Women's Cross Country Second Team.Â
