The Jackson State University bowling team will complete the fall portion of the 2022-23 schedule at the ISTAP Tournament at Alabama State.
The eight-team event at AMF Bolero is scheduled to begin with the baker format Friday at 8:45 a.m., five-player team format Saturday at 9:45 a.m., and championship Sunday beginning at 8:30 a.m. Admission is free and open to the public.
In addition to Jackson State and the host team Alabama State, SWAC teams Alabama A&M, Florida A&M, Grambling, and Southern, along with UAB and Tusculum.
The Jackson State women are off to a strong start in the 2022-23 season, finishing fourth out of eight teams at Florida A&M on Oct. 7-9 before placing sixth out of 15 teams at Tulane Oct. 14-16. In the early season, the Lady Tigers have posted head-to-head wins over No. 4 Sam Houston St., No. 17 Tulane twice, and No. 24 Lincoln Memorial.
