D'IBERVILLE, Miss. – The Jackson State University bowling team is in sixth place at the conclusion of the first Southwestern Athletic Conference Roundup at Cypress Lanes.
 
Jackson State won two matches on each of the three days of the roundup, concluding Sunday with wins over Alabama St. (919-834) and Alabama A&M (921-905).
 
The Lady Tigers have three bowlers in the Top 16. Senior Mariana Viveros is 11h in pin count with 2,644 pins (188.71 average) with five 200+ pin games with a high of 229. JSU senior Maria Jose Jaramillo is one spot behind in 12th with 2,631 pins (187.93 avg.), with six 200-pin games with a high of 218. Freshman Faith Washington is 16th with 2,527 pins (180.50 avg.), with three 200-pin games and a high of 234.
 
Jackson State returns to action this Friday-Sunday hosting the Sonic Boom Classic at Fannin Lanes.
