TALLAHASSEE, Fla.| The Jackson State softball team is set to open conference play Friday evening against Florida A&M in Tallahassee, Fla. Today's game time has been changed to 7:00 p.m. due to thunderstorms in the area.

Jackson State (10-11 0-0 SWAC) is coming off a mid-week doubleheader at home against Southern Miss. The Tigers topped USM 6-5 in game one and fell 9-3 in the second game.

JSU heads into conference play on the road at Florida A&M (-6-10) after going 12-12 in SWAC play last season. The Tigers concluded their 2022 campaign falling just short of Alabama State in the semifinals of the SWAC Softball Tournament.

Jackson State is predicted to finish second in the Eastern Division.
