ARLINGTON, Texas – The Jackson State University bowling team split a pair of matches on day one of the Southwestern Athletic Conference Championship at the International Training and Research Center.
The sixth-seeded Lady Tigers upset #3 Prairie View in the opening match, defeating PV 1035-947 in traditional match play and 919-844 in the Baker format. Jackson State then fell to #2 Alabama State 903-800 and 936-837.
All five JSU players are ranked in the Top 9 in individual scoring. Julianna Rincon leads the field with 438 pins, highlighted by a tournament-high 244 game vs. Prairie View. Marianna Viveros ranks fourth with 366 pins, including a high game of 205.
Marie Jose Jaramillo is fifth with 364 pins, with a high game of 233.
Faith Washington is sixth with 363 pins with a high game of 183.
Catalina Tovar is ninth with 304 pins, with a high game of 170.
