Jackson State football tight end D.J. Stevens was named a BOXTOROW First-Team HBCU Preseason All-American.

A 2023 first-team preseason All-SWAC selection, Stevens (6-4, 235; Sr., Ridgeland, Miss.) was a clutch element of last season's 2022 SWAC Championship team. He caught 37 passes for 376 yards and four touchdowns in earning second-team all-conference accolades by the SWAC and Phil Steele. Stevens caught at least one pass in every game, including 12 games with multiple receptions and six games with at least three receptions.

The two-time defending SWAC Champion Jackson State Tigers will open the 2023 season on Saturday, August 26 at 6:30 p.m. CT on ABC vs. South Carolina State in the Cricket MEAC-SWAC Challenge Kickoff in Atlanta.
