JACKSON, Miss. | Jackson State returns to the court for the first time in a week, traveling to Saint Louis to face the Billikens on Monday night inside Chaifetz Arena.
The game is set to tip at 7 p.m. on ESPN+.
It will be the first time the Tigers hit the floor since falling to Lipscomb on Sunday, Nov. 24 to close out a 10-day, four-game road swing that included games against Vanderbilt, WKU, and No. 9 Kentucky. The game will be the eighth consecutive road game for Jackson State to open the 2024-25 season and is the first of three this week on the road including Arkansas State (Dec. 5) and No. 5 Iowa State (Dec. 8).
Jayme Mitchell Jr. leads Jackson State in scoring at 13.0 points per game on 35.7 (30-of-84) percent shooting from the floor and 35.6 (16-of-45) percent from beyond the arc. He is also shooting 71.4 (15-of-21) percent from the free throw line and has grabbed an average of 4.6 rebounds per game. Meanwhile, Dorian McMillian, the reigning Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Newcomer of the Week, is averaging 9.9 points per game on 37.7 (26-of-69) percent shooting from the floor and dishing out 1.3 assists per game.
Romelle Mansel, who missed the last game against Lipscomb, is averaging 9.0 points and 6.7 rebounds per game.

- McMillian became the second Tiger to win a weekly award this season from the conference, joining Mitchell who was named the Impact Player of the Week two weeks ago. He scored in double figures in all three games this week for Jackson State including 16 points on 46.2 (6-of-13) percent shooting from the floor against WKU. He connected on a pair of three-pointers and knocked down two free throws in the loss. The freshman grabbed five rebounds and dished out a pair of assists. He followed that up with an 11-point performance at No. 9 Kentucky knocking down 50.0 (5-of-10) percent shooting from the floor, before finishing the week with 10 points and six rebounds at Lipscomb.
- Jackson State has the only McDonald's All-American in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) this year in Daeshun Ruffin. The transfer has not played yet this season but is the only McDonald's All-American to ever sign with a SWAC school. And wouldn't you know it, he is also coached by a former McDonald's All-American in Mo Williams. Not to mention, they are both from Jackson.
- Juan Reyna III, a transfer this season, is listed on the Mexican National Team roster (FIBA).
- Williams is one of 19 head coaches at the NCAA DI level that played in the NBA.
