Jackson State defeats Xavier (La.) for first win

JACKSON, Miss. | Jackson State recorded its first win of the season, defeating Xavier (La.) 4-2 at the JSU Tennis Center on Friday afternoon.

Jackson State (1-4) won the doubles point with wins by Federico Pickenstainer and Alejandro Pinilla (6-2) and Jhoan Vaquero and Fabrizio Fallas (6-4). In singles play, Pickenstainer earned a victory on court two with a 6-1 6-1 score. Fallas also won his match against Pedro Maggi 6-3, 6-2. Coming off of a SWAC Player of the Week honor, Ching Chang Chiu defeated VanDer Woody in a thrilling tiebreaker 6-7, 6-2, 6-1.
