Grant named SWAC Impact Player of the Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | Shannon Grant was named the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Impact Player of the Week after his performance against Alcorn State, announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon.

Although the Tigers played just one game, Shannon Grant had a career day to help Jackson State take over sole possession of second place in the SWAC. He finished with a career-high 25 points on 11-of-11 shooting from the floor and 3-of-3 from the free throw line. He grabbed four rebounds, dished out a pair of assists, and blocked four shots on his way to being named the HBCU+ Player of the Week and BoxToRow HBCU National Player of the Week. Over the last five games, Grant is averaging 17.2 points per game and is shooting 84.4 (38-of-45) percent from the floor helping Jackson State to a 4-1 record over that span.
