JACKSON, Miss.- Jackson State's men's tennis team shut out the Alcorn State Braves at home on Friday afternoon in the final conference match of the regular season.
The Tigers (6-10, 4-2 SWAC) began the day with a 2-0 win in doubles play after the team of Jhoan Vaquero and Gokalp Ayar won their matchup in a 6-2 decision, while Alejandro Pinilla and Federico Pickenstainer claimed a 6-4 victory on court two to clinch the doubles win.
In singles play, Ayar, Vaquero, and Pickenstainer continued their hot start with three wins. Ayar claimed victory at number six with a 6-0, 6-0 decision. Pickenstainer won his match at number two, while Vaquero finished with a 6-2, 6-4 victory.
