JACKSON, Miss. | Jackson State pitcher Eric Elliott was named the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) co-Pitcher and co-Newcomer of the Week for his performances against New Orleans and Mississippi Valley State this week.

Elliott (6-0) picked up a win in a 5-0 victory over Mississippi Valley State this weekend logging 7.0 innings and allowing just two hits with 12 strikeouts. He started the week with a save against New Orleans with one inning and three strikeouts.

The Tigers return to SWAC action this weekend on the road against UAPB beginning Friday.
