BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Jackson State's Tigers placed in the Top 10 of nine events at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Vulcan Invitational held at the Birmingham Complex Arena.

Event - Name - Place 

Weight Throw - Top 10 - Seth Gipson - threw a distance of 15.55 meters to land in 10th place. 

High Jump - Austin Fields - jumped a distance of 2.01 meters to land in fifth place. 

60-Meter Hurdles - Christian Jones - leaped to the finish line, with a time of 8.15, to place fourth. 

60-Meter Dash - Jailen Bell - crossed the finish line at 6.92 to place third. 

200-Meter Dash - Jailen Bell - placed fourth with a time of 22.06. 

400-Meter Dash - DeAndre McGriggs - crossed the finish line at 49.71 to take fifth place. 

800-Meter-Dash - Shafi Muhammad - came in eighth place, with a time of 5:59.72. 

1-Mile Run - Jallah Galimah - had a time of 4:30.50, placing ninth. 

4x400 Relay - Tigers crossed the finish line at 3:20.13 to place third.

The Tigers' tend to return to Jackson to rest their legs and prepared for the first day of the Spring semester, Monday, January 13th. Afterwards, the Tigers' will return for training to return to Birmingham for the Samford Invitational, January 17-18th.
