Ameshya Williams scored 16 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for her fifth double-double of the season, as the Jackson State women's basketball team drilled Alabama A&M 67-53 Monday evening in Southwestern Athletic Conference action.
Both teams traded baskets in the first half and the Lady Tigers went into halftime with a 31-26 advantage.
JSU (4-8, 2-0 SWAC) pulled away in the second half and outscored AAMU (4-8, 0-2 SWAC) 36-27 over the final 20 minutes to close out the contest.
Kaisah Lucky, who recorded a double-double this past Saturday versus Alabama State, turned out another splendid performance and scored seven points and handed out a game-high eight assists.

Marneisha Hamer added 14 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the field. Hamer also was a perfect 2-2 at the free-throw line.
Reigning SWAC Player of the Week
Dayzsha Rogan dropped a team-high 17 points and converted 3-of-6 attempts from beyond the arc.
As a team, JSU shot 46 percent (29-of-63) from the field, while holding AAMU to 31.9 percent (22-of-69) from the floor.
JSU forced AAMU into 21 turnovers which were turned into 25 points. The Lady Tigers also dominated in front of the basket with 41 rebounds and 44 points in the paint.
The Blue and White return to action Saturday at rival Alcorn State. The opening tip is scheduled for 3 p.m.
