JACKSON, Miss. – The Jackson State volleyball team concludes its regular season tonight as it hosts in-state rival Mississippi Valley State at 6:30 p.m. from the Lee. E. Williams Athletics and Assembly Center.
The Lady Tigers will celebrate its Spring 2021 Senior Class and look to clinch the Southwestern Athletic Conference Regular Season Championship and the No. 1 seed in this weekend's SWAC tournament. A win would also secure an unbeaten regular-season record.
In their previous contest, JSU swept MVSU. The Lady Tigers won the first two sets of the match by scores of 25-12 in each, before taking the third and final set 25-10 to take the sweep.
Alexis Williams added seven kills in the matchup.
Camry Dabney had six kills and
Jylen Whitten tallied five kills. Whitten also had seven digs.
Williams also had four aces and a team-best 12 digs on the night.
Alana Washington had nine digs behind Williams, for second-best on the team.
Damassy Thompson had 15 assists to pace JSU, while
DeKyra Dennis had nine assists for the contest.
