JACKSON, Miss. – Jackson State and Academy Sports have partnered together to give back to the community by helping give back to the Jackson Little League Program through a special mentorship program.

This past weekend, Jackson State and Academy Sports teamed up to donate $1,000 worth of baseball equipment to the Grove Park Little League.

"Our goal is to always make sure that we give back to the community, so we want to make sure that we always give back. We're in baseball season right now, so we picked the youth league team that we knew were in need of items so we wanted to make sure they have a successful career" said Jackson State's Assistant Athletic Director for Academics, Shyandrea Glass, recently in an interview with WJTV's Hailey Hunter.

Glass added this was their way for the two partners to give back to the community. The Tigers baseball program plans to invite Jackson Little League Program to more games throughout the remainder of the season and also plans to participate in virtual clinics with the program.
