JACKSON, Miss.| The Jackson State University volleyball team will host Florida A&M and Bethune-Cookman Friday and Sunday. Friday's matchup will tip off at 6:00 p.m. and first serve Sunday is set for 1:00 p.m.
Jackson State (6-12, 6-1 SWAC) last competed at the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Eastern Division Cluster going 3-0. The Tigers opened the weekend competing against Southern University in game one. Alexis Williams led the offense with 10 kills and added two aces in JSU's 3-0 victory.
JSU opened game two against Texas Southern taking a 2-0 lead before TSU took the third set. Jackson State came back in the fourth set to seal the 3-1 win. Damassy Thompson and Karys Dove each posted 21 assists in the victory. Dove also listed 10 digs in the match. JSU closed out the SWAC East Cluster cruising past Alcorn State, 3-0. Williams registered her 10th double-double of the season recording 14 kills and 10 digs against Alcorn. Thompson recorded 17 assists while Dove followed with 16. Taila Gaines and Jordan Jones each finished with two blocks. Trinity Bryant finished 14 digs.
Florida A&M (9-11, 6-0 SWAC) comes to Jackson State after sweeping Grambling State and Prairie View A&M and defeating Arkansas-Pine Bluff, 3-1, at the cluster to remain undefeated. FAMU opened conference play with in-state opponent, Bethune-Cookman. The Rattlers topped the B-CU 3-0. The green and orange traveled to Alabama State where they came out on top, 3-2. The Rattlers swept Alabama A&M in Huntsville before heading to the cluster.
Bethune-Cookman (3-15, 3-3 SWAC) heads to Mississippi after blanking Alcorn and Southern, 3-0, and topping Texas Southern 3-1 at the cluster. The Wildcats opened conference action with three straight losses to FAMU, Alabama State and Alabama A&M.

The Tigers will hit the road to compete at Alabama A&M (Oct. 23) and Alabama State (Oct. 24).
