Women's Tennis Remains Undefeated In SWAC

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Jackson State University women's tennis team handed Bethune-Cookman a 4-0 loss Friday at the Southwestern Athletic Conference POD II competition at the Olean Black Underwood Tennis Center.
 
JSU, 8-4 overall and 5-0 in the conference, went 3-0 in singles play and 2-0 in doubles against the Lady Wildcats, who dropped to 0-9 overall and 0-6 in the SWAC.
 
Daniela Ramos of JSU dominated B-CU's Jourdon Cooper in singles, winning 6-0, 6-0. JSU's Zeina Shaaban and Natalya Ogunwale were both credited with wins by default.
 
In doubles action, the Lady Tigers' duo of Shaaban/Ogunwale blanked B-CU's Selene Kentish/Jourdon Cooper 6-0 before the tandem of Paula Arcarons/Daniela Ramos won by default.
 
Action continues for the Lady Tigers as they take on Florida A&M in the SWAC Women's POD II on Saturday at 10 a.m.
