Box Score MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Jackson State University women's tennis team continued its mastery over Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) opponents on Sunday, defeating Florida A&M 4-2 in the conference's POD II matchup here at the Olean Black Underwood Tennis Center and seeing its record in league play extend to a perfect 6-0.
The Lady Tigers' road to victory over the Lady Rattlers was in the singles matchups, where they won four of the five completed matches, all in straight sets. The team was on the short end of both of its doubles matches.
In the singles, JSU's
Paula Arcarons, defeated Haleigh Porter 6-3, 6-2, with
Robin Alston winning 6-3, 6-1 over Adrienne Clayton,
Daniela Ramos winning 6-0, 6-3 over Claudia Sumaia, and Zeina Shaaban winning 6-1, 7-5 over Suzan Salinas.
Sherine Salem suffered a narrow 6-3, 6-2 defeat to Aylen beaut.
The Lady Tigers, 9-4 overall, return to action on Saturday, March 19, with a 1 p.m. match against Grambling State at the JSU Tennis Center.
