JACKSON, Miss.| The Jackson State women's tennis team opened its 2023 season at home Friday morning with a match up against Stephen F. Austin. The Tigers fell 4-3 at the JSU Tennis Center.
How It Happened
Tyra-Nicole Whyte and
Robin Alston opened the day with a successful double's competition topping their opponents 6-2.
Zeina Shaaban and Isabel Benavides sealed the Tigers' doubles point with a 6-4 win over Felicia Back and Saga Koch.
Jackson State's Alston shined in singles against SFA's Ksenia Mamontova sealing the match 6-3, 6-3.
Daniela Ramos came out on top in her singles matchup against Zala Ule, 6-2, 2-6, 7-6 (2). The Tigers fought until the end, but came up short after the completion of the singles competition matches.
