MONTGOMERY, Ala.| The Jackson State women's tennis team opened the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Pod II this afternoon with a matchup against Bethune-Cookman. The Tigers blanked the Wildcats 6-0 to uphold their undefeated conference record.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Jackson State (6-9, 4-0 SWAC) made its presence known as Tyra-Nicole Whyte and Robin Alston defeated their doubles opponents 6-0 to claim the doubles point for JSU. Daniella Ramos and Paula Arcarons' doubles match went unfinished.
Whyte completed singles winning two sets 6-0 over Diarra Thomas. De'Alva Alston and Daniella Ramos also defeated their singles opponents 6-0 in two sets each to seal the 5-0 victory for Jackson State.
UP NEXT
The Tigers will return to the court tomorrow to face Florida A&M to close out the SWAC Pod II. First serve is set for 10 a.m.
