JACKSON, Miss.| Jackson State announced its 2023 volleyball schedule Friday morning. The schedule includes 14 non-conference matches and nine at home. JSU will also host the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Western Division Cluster at the end of October.
 
Jackson State ended the 2022 season 13-17 overall and 11-5 in SWAC.
 
The Tigers will open the season in the South Alabama Tournament in Mobile facing Stephen F. Austin (Aug. 25), Tulane (Aug. 25) and closing out with the host team South Alabama (Aug 26).
 
JSU will head to Natchitoches for a non-conference matchup with Northwestern State (Aug. 29).
 
Jackson State is set to compete in the Central Arkansas Invitational in Conway opening the tournament with Central Arkansas (Sept. 1) and Arkansas-Little Rock (Sept. 1). The Tigers play their final game of the invitational against Southeastern Louisiana (Sept. 2).
 
JSU will host its home opener against ULM (Sept. 5) at the Lee E. Williams Athletics and Assembly Center at 4 p.m.
 
The Tigers will travel to Lake Charles, La. for the McNeese Invitational taking on Southeast Missouri (Sept. 8), Sam Houston (Sept. 8) and McNeese State (Sept. 9).
 
Jackson State will close out its non-conference run at the TSU Tournament in Nashville taking on UC-San Diego (Sept. 15) and host team Tennessee State (Sept. 15). The Tigers will round out the tournament against Belmont (Sept.16).
 
JSU will open SWAC play at home against Mississippi Valley State (Sept. 22) before heading to Florida to take on Bethune-Cookman (Sept. 29) and Florida A&M (Oct. 1).
 
The Tigers will continue their road trip as they open the SWAC Eastern Division Cluster One in Pine Bluff, Ark. JSU will face Alcorn State (Oct. 8), UAPB (Oct. 8) and Grambling State (Oct. 9).
 
Jackson State will return to its home court to host Alabama State (Oct. 13) and Alabama A&M (Oct. 15). The Tigers will face Mississippi Valley State (Oct. 25) in a mid-week matchup.
 
JSU will continue its home stretch opening play in the SWAC Western Division Cluster Two at the Lee E. Williams AAC. The Tigers will take on Prairie View A&M (Oct. 29) and Texas Southern (Oct. 29). The Tigers will close out the cluster Southern University (Oct. 30).
 
JSU will host Bethune-Cookman (Nov. 3) and Florida A&M (Nov. 5) before concluding the regular season at Alabama A&M (Nov. 10) and Alabama State (Nov. 12).
 
The 202 SWAC Volleyball Tournament will be held Nov. 17-Nov. 19 at Prairie View, Texas.
