THIBODAUX, La.| The Jackson State soccer team is set to compete in another non-conference matchup at Nicholls State Friday evening. Kickoff between the Tigers and Colonels is set for 7 p.m.
 
Jackson State (0-2) is coming off a home loss to Murray State Sunday afternoon. JSU played a tough defensive first half to hold the Racers scoreless. 
Kendyl Terrell shot early on in the match to try to give the Tigers the advantage. Terrell forced Murray State's goalie to make the save at 1:34 into the match. 
Sage Magruder shot again for JSU but had no luck with the off-target 12 minutes and 18 seconds into the game. 
Amalia Fonua took the last shot in the half as both teams went into the break scoreless.
The Racers got on the board at the 63:00 mark to take a 1-0 lead over the Tigers. Murray State scored again at 76:19 for a 2-0 advantage. 
Kendyl Terrell and 
Kyla Gomez shot back-to-back, but Villacres came up with the saves both times. Jackson State couldn't stage the comeback while time expired as the Racers took the win.
 
Nicholls State (0-4) fell 4-0 to Abilene Christian on the road Sunday. ACU took a 2-0 lead over Nicholls State before the half. The Wildcats sealed the match scoring two more goals closer to the end of the match.
