ARLINGTON, Texas | Jackson State fell just short of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) championship match, falling to top-seeded Southern in the final elimination match 4-3 on Sunday afternoon.

Jackson State, who entered the tournament as the sixth seed, opened play with a loss to third-seeded Alabama A&M before back-to-back victories pushed them into the final elimination match to reach the championship.

The Tigers defeated fifth-seeded Prairie View A&M before beating Alabama A&M to set up the match with Southern.

Juliana Rincon was named all-tournament after finishing second overall with an average of 220.00 with 400 total pins in two matches. She finished 42 pins behind Savanna Razor for the top pin total over the weekend. Meanwhile,
Stephanie Vasquez (189.00) and
Catalina Tovar (188.00) finished in the top 15 by finishing 10th and 11th respectively.
