Box Score JACKSON, Miss. | Jackson State, playing shorthanded, picked up three singles victories to defeat Nicholls 4-3 in non-conference action at the JSU Tennis Courts on Monday afternoon.

Jackson State (12-7) and Nicholls were tied at 3-all with the final match taking place at No. 2 singles where
Zeina Shaaban came back from down one set to force a third set. In that final third set, Shaaban won the final two games to take a 3-6, 6-3, 7-5 victory over Carla Bouygues for the overall Jackson State victory.

The Tigers were able to pick up the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles despite not playing at No. 3 due to injury. The Tigers picked up a straight-set victory at No. 4 before they forced the deciding match with a three-set victory at No. 1 by
Tyra-Nicole Whyte.
