HUNTSVILLE, Ala. | Robert Tate Jr. picked up a five-hit game leading Jackson State to a 13-7 victory over Alabama A&M in Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) action on Saturday afternoon, clinching the series.
Tate finished the day 5-for-5 with three runs scored and three RBI, while also adding a stolen base.
Lenny Montesano finished 3-for-4 with four runs scored, two RBI, a double, and a home run while
Arjun Huerta finished 3-for-5 with an RBI and a double.
Jordan McCladdie hit his second home run in as many games finishing 2-for-4 with three runs scored and an RBI, while
Shemar Harris,
Myles White, and
Jaelen Williams each picked up a pair of hits in the win for Jackson State (32-18, 15-12 SWAC).
Erick Gonzalez (5-2), the first of four pitchers used on the day, picked up the win working 5.2 innings and allowing five runs on seven hits with three strikeouts.

- (T1) McCladdie hit a solo home run to right field before Harris singled to right center to score Tate and Williams singled through the right side to drive in Harris, Jackson State 3-0.
- (T2) Montesano singled through the right side to drive in a run before Tate singled to right to drive in Montesano, Jackson State 5-0.
- (B2) Chevalier Dorris singled to center to drive in a run, Jackson State 5-1.
- (T4) Tate recorded an RBI on a sacrifice bunt before Williams and Huerta recorded RBI singles, Jackson State 8-1.
- (T5) Tate singled to right center to drive in Rodney Hibler Jr. before Harris drove in a run with a sacrifice fly, Jackson State 10-1.
- (B5) Jesus Reiea drove in a run with a sacrifice fly, Jackson State 10-2.
- (B6) Mekhi Lloyd doubled down the left field line to drive in a run before Dre Amaral singled to right to drive in a run and Jared Tribett hit a two-run home run to left, Jackson State 10-6.
- (T7) Montesano hit a solo home run to left before White recorded an RBI on a sacrifice fly, Jackson State 12-6.
- (B8) Brycen Hammonds singled to left center to drive in a run, Jackson State 12-7.
- (T9) White singled to right center to drive in Tate, Jackson State 13-7.
