SAN DIEGO, Calif. | Junior Paula Corbalan competed in ITA Masters on Thursday where she defeated Fairleigh Dickinson's Oleksandra Ovsiienko to advance to the second round of the ITA Masters.  She fell to Mao Muskia of the California Golden Bears in a competitive match up. 

Corbalan, a native of Santa Fe, Argentina, recorded an impressive win against Ovsiienko, cruising to a  6-3, 6-3 victory. She met Muskia in the next round with a chance to compete in the semifinals on the line. The two had a competitive match, especially in the first set. Eventually, Corbalan fell in 7-5, 6-3 decision to end her time in San Diego.
