HOUSTON, Texas | Pierre Cabral drove in four run helping Jackson State pick up a 6-3 victory over Alabama A&M on the second day of the Cactus Jack Classic at Daikin Park.
Cabral finished the day 1-for-4 at the plate but connected on a three-run home run in the bottom of the sixth inning to give Jackson State (1-1) a 5-3 lead after Alabama A&M (0-2) had just taken a one-run lead in the top half of the sixth inning. He also added an RBI sacrifice fly in the fourth inning. Jackson State was held to six hits by a pair of Alabama A&M pitchers with Joseph Eichelberger going 2-for-3 with three runs scored and an RBI.
Shemar Harris (1-0), the third of four pitchers used on the day for Jackson State, picked up the win working 2.0 scoreless innings and striking out two. Brandon Haston picked up his first save of the season working the final two innings and striking out one. Eric Elliott got his first career start at Jackson State, working 4.2 innings and allowing two runs (both earned) on two hits with a pair of strikeouts.

- 3rd inning - Brycen Hammond grounded out to short to score Dre Amaral, Alabama A&M 1-0.
- 4th inning - Eichelberger doubled down the left field line to score Ledy Alvarez. Cabral drove in Eichelberger with a sacrifice fly to left, Jackson State 2-1.
- 5th inning - Trey Rutledge scored on a wild pitch, 2-2.
- 6th inning - Joseph Desmore reached on a fielders choice allowing Miles Jackson to score, Alabama A&M 3-2.
- 6th inning - Cabral hit a three-run home run to left to drive in Eichelberger and Alvarez, Jackson State 5-3.
- 8th inning - Wilbert Perez doubled to right center to score Eichelberger, Jackson State 6-3.
